In Greek mythology, "Pathos" is the name given to the personification of suffering.

We have given this song the name of "Pathos" because this song was written about suffering from crippling depression, both musically and lyrically. It is a form of suffering that is taken for granted much too often, and this is our way of reaching out to people who suffer from this illness.

A growing shadow of doubt, apathy, fear and pain"

He beats himself into submission, drained of the will to live.
Deformed, broken but still alive. Why is it still alive?

Darkened sky streaked with fire; burning the world below.
Growing shadow consumes the mind, burning, corrupting, decaying, killing.

Haze of apathy diseased with fear.
Slave to atrophy; walls of misery, agony, fear, closing in.

Visions of shifting shadows plague the realm of sleep.
Dreams of torture, demons, laughing, screaming, tearing the flesh from bone.

Drained of the will to live, tearing the flesh from bone.

This is a curse, this is a prison.
This is a cancer, this is pain.

I am cancer, destroying the mind; a growing shadow, consuming all in it's path.

I am the crushing stone of perpetual misery, I can feel the feeble bones crumbling beneath me.
I am the man whose soul is laced with pain, every waking moment filled with agony.
